Researchers at the Psychiatric Institute in London have found in studies that just a spoonful of ice cream is enough to activate the pleasure centres in the human brain. By the way, these are the same centres as when winning money or listening to favourite music. The researchers attribute the happiness experience mainly to the fact that we associate certain positive, satisfying images in the brain with eating ice cream. And happier people should live longer.

The physician Dr. Brian Weiner, gastroenterologist and junior professor at the ” Robert Wood Johnson Medical School” in New Jersey has calculated how many calories are consumed when licking ice cream. According to him, we use the energy of 160 calories to eat a liter of ice cream. 160 calories correspond to the energy consumption of 15 minutes of jogging.
There are actually healthy varieties and super food ice creams! Goji berries (also in ice cream) contain anti-aging properties and strengthen the immune system. Caffeine contained in raw cocoa in chocolate ice cream has a stimulating effect. Chia seeds are full of antioxidants and provide energy. Matcha boosts the metabolism and burns calories.

A new trend in detox comes, of course, from California. The ice cream shop “Kippy” offers the first “Ice-Cream & Yoga Cleanse” in the world. The fatty acids saturated in the milk-free ice cream are supposed to stimulate digestion and metabolism. During the four-day programme, you lick about two and a half litres of sorbet a day and do 1.5 hours of yoga.
